Welcome to MDP's website. The Municipal Development Program (MDP) is a decentralization project, implemented in four municipalities across Angola.
The MDP is supporting the Government of Angola's decentralization processes by sharing best practice of the program's five year experience in promoting participatory local good governance. We have developed several innovations that bring citizens and local government together, empower communities to influence local decision-making and contribute to reducing poverty and social injustice.
This website disseminates the project's model, its experiences and its successes that are changing the face of local governance where we work. Our aim is to encourage learning and exchanges of information with practitioners, academics, governments, donors and civil society within Angola, regionally and at a global level.
